- GRAVITY: is the force that pulls objects downwards towards the centre of the Earth.
- UPTHRUST: is the force that pushes an object up and makes it seem to lose weight in a fluid. It is known as Archimedes' principle of flotation.
- FRICTION: is the resistance between two surfaces that are in contact with each other.
- AIR RESISTANCE: it is a force that pushes against things which are moving.
- TURNING FORCES: We use different forces (turn, push, pull) to turn something round.
- PRESSURE: is the force that acts on a unit area of surface. Pressure=Force/Area.
- BALANCED FORCES: When things are not moving, the forces are balanced.
- UNBALANCED FORCES: Unbalanced forces are needed to make things change movement and direction.
